Spartans drop duals to Caro and Lowell

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team dropped a pair of non-league duals at an assembly it hosted on Tuesday, December 10.

Imlay City opened their two-match stint with a 46-30 loss to Caro.

A group consisting of Tanner Land, Christopher Galiana, Logan Russell, Kaden Powers and Jaydin Hall led Imlay City with wins via the pinfall route. Land stopped Aiden McIntosh at 126 pounds; Galiana defeated 138-pound foe Ezekel Martens; Russell beat Eddy Burch at 144 pounds; Powers conquered 190-pound counterpart Colton Pugh; and Hall downed Elijsha Hyde at 285 pounds.

None of Imlay City’s pinfall times were available.

That was followed by a 74-3 setback to Lowell.

Land was the lone Imlay City grappler who prevailed. He picked up a 4-3 victory over 126-pound adversary Cole Cichocki.

With the results, Imlay City now stands at 3-4 this season.
