Almont Supterintendent search underway
The Almont school board finds themselves in familiar territory, looking to fill a vacant seat come July 1 as current Supt. Kimberly VonHiltmayer will retire at the end of this school year.
With the pending retirement, Almont Community Schools Board of Education is beginning the process of hiring their next superintendent.
Wanting to make what they feel is the best selection possible, the board is soliciting community and staff input on the qualities, experiences, and skills needed in the new superintendent.
Residents of the district, all staff and administration are encouraged to participate in the process of screening potential candidates.
The board is being assisted in its search by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan. Scott Morell is facilitating the search on behalf of MASB.
Scott Morell will be holding meetings in the district to give the community and staff opportunity for input.
Parents and community members will be invited to share their perspectives, meetings will be announced in the future.

The survey is being administered by the MASB Executive Search team on behalf of the District and takes about ten minutes to complete.
Anonymous individual responses will be combined with those from the March 2, 2026 face to face meetings with stakeholders to provide important community input to the Almont Community Schools Board of Education as it seeks to identify the best candidate for the position.
The new superintendent is expected to assume the position on July 1, 2026.
Community members are welcome to stop in for a one on one meeting with MASB on March 13 between 2:30pm-7pm at the Almont Middle School Media Center. This is an opportunity for anyone to meet with Scott Morell from MASB to have 1:1 discussion about the Superintendent search process.
