August 10, 2026
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Supervisor Winn. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Members present: Parks, Klos, Winn and Christian. Wittstock was absent. Seventeen audience members. July minutes approved. Treasurer’s report approved. Fire report: 23 runs last month; Open House (50th Anniversary) will be 10/3 (11 a.m.- 2 p.m.) and hired Gavin Rogers and Marissa Klik. Planning Commission: one split approved and pheasant farm permit renewed. Senior report: exercise is every Monday at 11 a.m. and cards is every Tuesday at noon; next potluck is 8/25. Park report: Tie-dye went well, Halloween party will be in conjunction with Fire Department Open House (pumpkins and candy), basketball hoops were ordered and waiting for paint on pickleball court. Discussed: township hall sidewalks will be repaired, Sharrard Road culvert replacement approved, 5-year contract approved with King & Messing (auditors), Primary Election turnout was only 28%, wastewater site needed more pumping out, marijuana growers will be held to the ordinance, speeding on Capac Road will be addressed and discontinuation of resident land lines by Frontier is being looked into. Audience: questions about speeding on dirt roads, a barn issue on a 5 acre parcel and a ditching issue on Belle River/Berville Roads area were discussed. A complete copy of the unapproved current minutes is available at the township hall during business hours and on the township website within a couple days of the meeting.
