Almont and Imlay City trap teams compete

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City and Almont trap teams had a great weekend competing at the state trap event. Imlay City sent two squads of six middle school athletes, two freshmen, and one junior. The weather couldn’t have been better, and while the Spartan shooters didn’t bring home hardware this time, they came home with something just as valuable—experience, confidence and continued growth. Every tournament is another opportunity to learn, improve and grow stronger as a team.

The IC coaching staff is  incredibly proud of this young group and all the hard work they’ve put in this season. The future is bright for Spartan Trap! Congratulations to the Spartan shooters.

Meanwhile, Almont sent 14 sharp shooters to the competition last weekend and enjoyed strong scoring from several of their participants.

The Raiders finished 18th out of 33 schools with 449pts. Varsity finished 17th place, JV finished 5th place, and Novice finished 10th place. Top 10 MI Clay League Results- Penelope Glosser 5th Place - JV Female Rhyland Schapman 10th Place. JV Male Top 5 Team Scores:  94 - Blake Boyer, 91 Shane Roosa, 89 Emmerson McConnell, 88 Jaxson Kozik, 87 Rhyland Schapman.
