Imlay City second in Webberville

 

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City girls’ cross country squad obtained a second-place finish last Saturday at the Second Annual Happy Acres Invitational in Webberville.

Lansing Christian’s 24-point total paced the field assembled. They were followed by Imlay City (58 points), Southfield Christian (111), Livingston Christian (116), Breckenridge (127), Bath (144), Charyl Stockwell Academy (155), Webberville (180) and Morrice (215).

Dryden, Dansville and Novi Christian Academy also competed but did not field full squads.

Jessica Denver, third, 20:01.78; led Imlay City that day. Sydney Kapushinski, 12th, 23:15.83; Alice Johnson, 15th, 23:58.64; Mary Kaminski, 18th, 24:41.49; and Natalie Douglas, 23rd, 25:14.25; rounded out the Spartans’ top-five.

Ella Kage paced Dryden’s three-runner contingent. Her time of 22:45.86 paid off with an eighth.

Ava DeVlaminck, 51st, 29:31.62; and Lily Finnigan, 63rd, 33:41.73; also represented Dryden that day.
